DESCRIPTION:An invitation to the Antler River Watershed Regional Council\, Horseshoe Falls Regional Council and Western Ontario Waterways Regional Council to participate \nin an online gathering November 3rd – 7th\, 2021 \nto celebrate the  \nLove and Justice Ministries of The United Church of Canada \n The United Church of Canada’s Church in Mission Unit is planning an online gathering to lift up opportunities for United Church people and communities to ENGAGE! in the many and diverse ministries of love and justice of the church. It’s essential that the event foreground the life\, work\, witness and discipleship of United Church of Canada global partners. \nThe ENGAGE! Love and Justice gathering will move through 5 daily themes\, with worship\, keynote speakers\, workshops\, and interactive booths. The event will use the Whova online event platform accessible by desktop\, laptop\, or mobile device. The daily themes are: \nEngage deep spirituality\nEngage daring justice\nEngage courageous community\nEngage bold discipleship\nEngage hope \nTo participate: \n\nRegister and receive information:\n\nRegister at https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/the-united-church-of-canada/events/engage-love-and-justice-ministries-of-the-united-church-of-canada/ \n\nSet up a Whova “booth”. \n\nALL United Church global partners and Regional councils are invited to set up Whova virtual booth.  A “booth” is an online space that can hold a brief description of your organization’s mission and ministry\, and share photos\, video\, presentations\, or handouts that event participants can access when they “enter” the online booth. \nWhova booths will be visible to all attendees throughout the event\, and look like the image below. Attendees will have the opportunity to leave chat messages with your organization at the booth. We recommend that someone from your organization checks in to the booth once per day during the event to see what chats have happened and respond\, if able. \nTo set up a booth\, please input your information into the form linked here: https://unitedchurch.formstack.com/forms/boothenglish \nIf you have any questions about setting up a booth\, please email edge@united-church.ca. DESCRIPTION:What Time Is It — Advent or Advent’ure? \n“In this climate emergency\, our traditional stories from the Hebrew-Christian Bible and the new story from modern science make for powerful dance partners\, stronger and more relevant together than apart.”  Carol Kilby\, Evolutionary Dancer\, Out\, In\, and On the Fringe of the Church \nIt is with great excitement that Wesley United in Welland announces that they are hosting Rev. Dr. Carol Kilby!  \nShe will share with us her wisdom gleaned from writing her book Evolutionary Dancer; Out\, In\, and On the Fringe of the Church. \nRev. Kilby will lead us in worship and in a learning circle just before Advent begins\, inviting us among other things\, to engage in this celebration of anticipation\, in the context of 21stC cosmology\, as an evolutionary moment for humanity and Christianity. There is no denying that we are experiencing  an ecological crisis and there is no better time to turn to our faith for wisdom on next steps. Carol’s book is available for purchase through Amazon. \n \nEvolutionary Dancer: Out\, In\, and on the Fringe of the Church \nThe event is called What time is it? Advent or Advent’ure? and it will take place on November 14th\, just prior to the beginning of Advent. The worship will begin at 10am and will be broadcast on YouTube Wesley United Church Welland.
